Monthly Price Changes:
- Pork: Average retail prices of selected pork products (incl. Bacon products) reached R117.70/kg, 1.3% higher than in March 2025.
- Chicken: Chicken* retail prices reached R69.47/kg, 6.3% lower than in March 2025.
- Beef: Beef retail prices were 3.9% higher in April 2025 than in March 2025, reaching R138.35/kg.
- Lamb: Lamb prices were 1.9% higher in April 2025 than in March 2025, reaching R178.52/kg.
Annual Price Changes:
- Pork: Average retail prices of selected pork products (incl. Bacon) were 6% higher in April 2025 compared to April 2024.
- Chicken: Chicken* retail prices were on average 16% lower in April 2025 compared to April 2024.
- Beef: Beef retail prices were 5.7% higher in April 2025 compared to April 2024.
- Lamb: Lamb retail prices were 14.1% higher in April 2025 compared to April 2024.
