Why testing matters: The ongoing battle against mycotoxins
When people think about food safety risks, it is often bacteria and pesticides that come to mind. Yet one of the most persistent and unpredictable threats to food and feed safety is far less visible: mycotoxins. These naturally occurring toxins have been present for as long as crops have been cultivated, and despite advances in agriculture and storage technology, they continue to challenge producers, grain handlers, food processors, and regulators worldwide. Reaping the benefits of grain drying

Wheat pricing
Concerns regarding the sustainability of South Africa’s wheat industry were raised during a special meeting of the Wheat Forum Steering Committee in October 2025. Following this meeting, the National Agricultural Marketing Council (NAMC) was requested to conduct a formal Section 7 investigation into the wheat industry. As part of Agbiz Grain’s preparation for the Section 7 investigation, an analysis of wheat prices since the introduction of the free-market system in South Africa (2000) was undertaken.
