The Kubota council of dealers, established a few years ago, is a great asset for producers who use Kubota tractors. It generates direct and open communication between producers and the Japanese manufacturer, through the local distributor, Smith Power Equipment. This means that customers’ needs and requirements can be quickly and effectively addressed, whether they need product modifications or spare parts.
Dennis van der Merwe, Kubota national sales manager for Smith Power Equipment, says that the council has many benefits, such as improved localisation of products and faster response to market events or trends. He gives the example of the floods in the Western Cape. The council acted quickly and efficiently to help affected producers. They provided advice on how to handle the flood-damaged equipment and delivered spare parts where they were required.
“Our dealer network covers almost every corner of the country, and this type of success shows the importance of constant interaction. We are assisting customers on remote farms, in municipalities and industry, by responding to opportunities as they arise.
“Through the council, we also track new trends and share best practices from other regions, where producers use our equipment in different ways and for different crops or livestock. Most importantly, we give customers a stronger voice and enable dealers in different regions to excel in supplying them with the right solutions,” says Van der Merwe.
Phillip Fabricius of Fabricius Meganiese Dienste is the council’s Western Cape dealer principal. He says that the council provides valuable support to the dealers and customers. He says that the council is run by the dealers for the dealers and is available to their valued customers in industry and agriculture.
He also mentions that many success stories testify to the difference the council has made for Kubota dealers and producers alike.
