Die minister van landbou, John Steenhuisen het vandag, 27 September 2024, statutêre maartreëls vir wintergrane laat afkondig wat vanaf 1 Oktober 2024 ingevorder moet word. Die doel van die statutêre heffings is om finansiële bystand aan die wintergraanbedryf te verleen ten opsigte van wintergraan-markinligting, -navorsing, en transformasie.
Die nuutgestigte SA Winter Cereal Industry Agency NPC (SAWCIA) sal die statutêre maatreëls administreer. Die heffings vir die bemarkingsjaar wat strek vanaf 1 Oktober 2024 tot 30 September 2025, beloop:
- Koring, R12 per metrieke ton
- Moutgars, R12 per metrieke ton
- Hawer, R10 per metrieke ton.

Statutory measure for winter grains announced
The minister of agriculture, John Steenhuisen, has announced the statutory measures for winter grains to be collected as of 1 October 2024. The goal of the statutory levies is to provide the winter grains industry with financial assistance in terms of market information, research, and transformation.
The newly established SA Winter Cereal Industry Agency NPC (SAWCIA) will administer the statutory measure. Levies for the marketing year from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025 are:
- Wheat, R12 per metric tonne
- Malt barley, R12 per metric tonne
- Oats, R10 per metric tonne.
