Monthly Price Changes:
- Pork: Average retail prices of selected pork products (incl. Bacon products) reached R109.43/kg, 2.2% higher than during August 2024.
- Chicken: Chicken* retail prices reached R73.87/kg, 11.1% lower than in August 2024.
- Beef: Beef retail prices were 1% lower in September 2024 than in August 2024, reaching R126.91/kg.
- Lamb: Lamb prices were 1.6% lower in September 2024 than in August 2024, reaching R153.85/kg.
Annual Price Changes:
- Pork: Average retail prices of selected pork products (incl. Bacon) were 0.3% higher in September 2024 than in September 2023.
- Chicken: Chicken retail prices were on average 4.8% lower in September 2024 than in September 2023.
- Beef: Beef retail prices were 2.3% lower in September 2024 than in September 2023.
- Lamb: Lamb retail prices were 1.3% lower in September 2024 than in September 2023.
