- Grain SA’s Grow for Gold Awards recently celebrated its fifth birthday in style at the Thaba Eco Hotel in Johannesburg. This competition provides a platform for grain producers to compete for the best yield per category, aiming to reach the genetic potential of different grain crops and learn from one another. This year, a wheat competition was introduced and Plaas TV spoke to one of the winners in this category. We also heard what the sunflower record holder had to say.

- In a world where industries increasingly face unprecedented disruptions, the animal feed sector is no exception. Over the past two centuries, we have seen remarkable advancements in feed production, however, the landscape is rapidly changing. Disruptive innovations have revolutionised industries such as hospitality, transportation, and entertainment. Will the same happen to animal feed production? These issues will be addressed at the upcoming AFMA Symposium, held in Pretoria on 31 October. Chantelle Fryer tells us more.
- Die minister van landbou, John Steenhuisen het onlangs die statutêre maatreëls vir wintergrane laat afkondig wat vanaf 1 Oktober 2024 ingevorder moet word. Die doel van die statutêre heffings is om finansiële bystand aan die wintergraanbedryf te verleen ten opsigte van wintergraan-markinligting, -navorsing, en transformasie.
