The wheels are in motion for the 2017 Santam Agriculture National Silage Competition. The competition is hosted annually in cooperation with Veeplaas and Stockfarm. The purpose of the competition is to make a contribution towards the promotion of good silage practices and a #SilageKing is announced every year. Click here to read about the 2016 winner.
Entries for this year’s competition have closed and sampling will kick off on 3 July. Students from the University of the Free State will traverse the country to take almost 60 samples on participating farms. This year also marks the first time that samples will be taken at participating agricultural schools.
