The second last sale of the winter mohair sales season continued its upward trend despite the fluctuating currency, which ended slightly higher than on the previous sale. The average market indicator gained 3.6% to close at a value of R234.00/kg.

A strong demand was experienced across all sectors, especially for superior lots on offer. The average price of kid mohair increased with 4.1% to R304.83/kg, young goat mohair also traded 4.1% dearer at R262.85/kg. Fine adult mohair traded 4.8% dearer at R247.96/kg and strong adult mohair traded 2.8% dearer at R231.31/kg.
