The slight drop in the kid mohair can be attributed to the shorter, stronger mohair that was on offer for this particular sale.

Competition was good and nearly 100% of the 90,249kg’s on offering sold. The market has increased by a significant 24% since the first sale of the 2017 winter auction. The average price of kid mohair decreased with 3.1% to R295.50/kg, and young goat mohair was virtually unchanged at R260.61/kg. Fine adult mohair was also unchanged at R248.59/kg and strong adult mohair traded 1.3% dearer at R234.30/kg. -Market report
