The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) recently held their first in-person Fresh Solutions event for 2022. The day was hailed as informative and interesting and provided the opportunity for role-players in the industry to build their networks.
Greg Whitaker, founder and CEO of AgrigateOne, led the keynote address and spoke to attendees about how data can drive better decision-making and control in the supply chain.
The keynote address was followed by a panel discussion led by Dr Johnny van der Merwe, an economist and lecturer at North-West University. Panellists joining him was Willie Jacobs, CEO of Potatoes SA (PSA), CT van der Merwe, CEO of AL 3 Boerdery, and Matome Ramokgopa, general manager of Enza Zaden.
They discussed the future of the vegetable industry in South Africa (SA). The panel discussion was followed by a question and answer session between the panellists and attendees.
The event sponsors were Nile.ag, RSA Group, PSA, APAC, Enza Zaden, IFG, Prophet, and Israel Trade SA.
The next Fresh Solutions will be held on 11May in Stellenbosch.
